ptBox

With the aim of producing a cheaper and modular hardware for image acquisition and processing, photrack has created the ptBox, which is based on Raspberry Pi, the main components are a camera, a power management module and a modem for data transmission. The ptBox can be powered using solar panels

The ptBox can be used to acquire images or videos and process them and it can host any software which can run in a Raspberry Pi. It comes with an API which makes it easy to interact with its Hardware components.

The DischargeKeeper software can be installed in the ptBox. This version of DischargeKeeper is called DischargeKeeperLight (DKL), since it has less options than the DischargeKeeper. Although, the same algorithms are implemented, it is only suited for smaller rivers, it does not have external sensors and the only option to output the data is to send data to the cloud .
